Gardening Together: Medicine for Our Times
Gardening Together: Medicine for Our Times
People aren’t feeling great these days.
Ask them why, and you’ll hear a myriad of answers: uncertainty, loneliness, high prices, political polarization, extreme weather, war, AI, and any number of personal challenges.
It’s a heady and anxious time.
If this rings true for you, we invite you to come garden with us.
Gardening with others improves emotional well-being, reduces isolation, reconnects us with nature and with agricultural traditions our ancestors practiced, and give us a sense of common purpose, sometimes even across political divides.
And then there’s the joy.
There is laughter in the fields, conversation around the harvest table, and a real sense of accomplishment when we tally what we’ve grown.
So far, together, we’ve donated more than 14,000 vegetables—over two tons of fresh food—to people in need.
With your help, we can grow even more.
We invite you to garden with us and discover the secret of Hongik:
When you care for others—for those in need, for the health of the soil, air, and water, and for the creatures who visit our garden—you also care for yourself!
|
That is the gift of gardening together. If any of this resonates with you, join our Hongik family and become a Cultivator! |
