A Pollinator Bonanza!
On Wednesday, October 29 the Eco Farm was blessed with a special visitor, Susan Sander! Susan grew up in Western Lake Colorado, moved to Kerrville Texas and founded the Riverside Nature Center serving as environmental educator for over 30 years.
Now retired and back in the midwest, she focuses on birds and trees. As a board member of the Friends of Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge she encourages landowners to create a PEARL (Pocket Environments Animals Really Like). By planting and restoring these native plants in our gardens, it helps link conserved lands in our area and attract birds and bees.
Creating a sanctuary for endangered wildlife seemed so aligned and perfect for our Eco Farm which is why we are so grateful to Susan for bringing a multitude of clippings from her personal garden to our farm. And since these native plants attract our lovely friends the BEE we are thrilled at the positive pollination impact this will have on our farm next year. Not to mention the gorgeous plethora of color this will add to the farm. Make sure you come by to see the colors, birds, butterflies and bees!
A special thank you to Susan!
