Volunteer Spotlight: Susan

Our farm would not exist without the people in our community that support us through their donations of time, services and financial support.

Volunteers are the life force of our farm and is a key part of our vision of bringing our community together.  People Helping People.  This month we would like to extend a special thank you and acknowledgement to Susan.

Three years ago, I retired after spending more than 30 years in the construction industry – a career I truly loved. Since my office was in a basement for much of that time, being able to spend time outdoors now feels like a real gift. Two years ago, while looking for a meaningful way to give back to the community, Deborah, my yoga instructor and Hongik Board Member told me about Hongik ECO Farm. From my very first visit, I was welcomed by such kind and caring people that I knew I had found a place where I wanted to spend some time each week.

When I’m not volunteering at the farm, I enjoy traveling, practicing yoga, gardening, reading and most of all, spending time with my grandchildren. Volunteering at Hongik ECO Farm has been a wonderful way to stay active, connect with great people and help make a difference in our community.

Thank you Susan!!!
